Arthur and William both go to St. Joe. Throughout the book you can see that they are destined to go and play in the NBA. I admire their wishes and hard work to be the best they can be. Arthur just got kicked out of St. Joe and William didn't which doesn't make much sense considering that they face the same tuition problem. Maybe they don't want Arthur. I began to feel sympathy for Arthur.

Arthur and William seem so destined to be the best at basketball. I really admire their will to be better and better each day. William seems a little more disciplined than Arthur. Since the two boys can't supply the money for the school they make it up by mopping floors. Arthur's tuition wan't enough and now he has been kicked out. I feel really bad for Arthur because William has the same issue, and they kept Wil

Holden Caufield now lives a life on his own. He lives in the big city and acts like a mature adult. From time time you can tell that Holden wants to be older than he really is. At bars he can't always get cocktails and other drinks, just soda. When talking to people over the phone or intercom he always seems to pretend to make his voice deeper than it really is. Holden is actually pretty tall so that also helps.
