The March family is supposed to be poor, but they still have a servant. I can see the logic in that... ;) Also, Amy is my least favorite character - right in front of Meg. They're both so vain and spoiled.

Kereesa That's more to do with context than poverty. Genteel women, the March family, were not *meant* to work with their hands, so having a servant, even if its just a cook, was a way of keeping their status, even if it created a strain on them financially :)

I hated Amy too. Brat!

Maja Yes I know ;) just thought it was "funny" how they complain about their poverty and having a servant. Maybe the word poor is a little strong word for their situation - as they learn as they grow up.

My favorite is Jo :)
