Willow encounters injury on her glabella after a cut from furniture in a children's centre. Later, she sent to the ER, then escapes and found by the Nguyens and Dell Duke. The Nguyens then takes Willow for temporary custody. This story is incredible how all the character's story is matched into one.

The book divides the characters into their own stories, from Mai, Willow, counselor Dell Duke, and Willow's late parents. The book is very interesting to read through, as when Willow finishes counselor sessions with Dell Duke, the story immediately carries on with Dell's story. The book gives backround information and flashbacks from current situations to help you understand the plot more.
