"a morbid longing for the picturesque at all costs" as a character flaw=identifiable Slow going because things got intellectual and I wasn't in the mood But I've re read 38-42 and feel like the crux of the crime lies in the philosophical view that Julian spouts on these pages. These pages will be much important later me thinks.
