I think the Chracter(David) Is a really brave for staying strong, he gave up at one point but then he tought he didnt want to give that satisfaction.
Fact~ He has alot of courage for writing not only one book but three bools of how he survied servre abuse from his mother for 15 years.

David also known as It is still struggling in his life of hatred and abuse. At this point he is giving up on his , he prays everytime his mom plays her games or beats him she just kills him already. To be honest i dont why hes tryed to leave yet all he needs to do is tell the nurse and he wont ever go back home. everyone in his house already hates him and he already lost his dad. All he can gain by leaving is afamily
