In this book, Katniss and Peeta fight to survive the Hunger Games. The book is very interesting, and is a great book for anyone to read. An important moment is when Katniss agrees to eat poisonous berries, but then doesn’t eat it. She says after to peeta, who she agreed to eat it with “Did you eat any? I guess you may have been dead by now if you did.” (Pg 346) This is a turning point because it decides if they die.

They have now started to learn about what they are good at. For example, Katniss is now realizing that she is good at shooting a bow, and that she may need to find a bow to succeed. She also needs to improve on other things incase she doesn’t get a bow. My opinion on what is going on is that Katniss is making a mistake. I think if Katniss wants to win, she needs to become friends with Peeta, the other tribute.

Now they are discussing strategy and they are practicing. They are practicing fighting skills and what they need to win. They also have started to split apart, and her friend that is in te contests with her is starting to get mad at her Katniss states that “they need to stick together to win” but her friend doesn’t agree.

Currently they are on a train to the place where they will start. Katniss is talking with the mayors son, and she thinks that he is trying to be nice so she doesn’t go for him in the hunger games. One of the biggest conflicts was a decision. In her sisters first year being eligible for the hunger games, she was picked. Katniss had to have the courage to volunteer instead of her because her sister could have died.

Currently in the book I am at the part where they are introducing themselves. They walked out in a coal miners outfit because it fits there section of the town. The setting is a section of a city. This part of the city is not nice like the others. It is a place with rows of houses, and a fence surrounding a part of it in which there is a forest for hunting on it. This story could not take place anywhere else.
