Little hard to read since author is not a professional writer. But it is made easier to read bc of the 'Last Stand at Khe Sanh' book I just read, which has a short account of the Battle of Lang Vei in it. Book also reveals things that 'Last Stand' did not, such as the marines, esp. officers not getting along with the Green Berets. And that the first, 1967, attack on Lang Vei involved traitorous indigenous troops.

Their Lang Vei, Vietnam camp overrun, the Green Berets must escape through their own defensive line: "Even though they knew the location of the mines...this was no stroll through the park. They were under fire, trying to avoid mines and booby traps, and operating under light provided by parachute flares."

"Some of the ammunition for the big mortars had manufacture dates of 1941 and 1942. The failure-to-fire rate as the A-Team practiced H and I...and illumination fire was unacceptable."

Imagine this circa 1960s "After 3 semesters, he had exhausted his savings and decided to return to Harrisburg to work full time and again accumulate some funds for the completion of college." Gosh pay for your college as you go? With your own money? Book is full of names and biographies and a lot of stuff that enlisted folks would be interested in. No battles yet.
