The Narrator used a flashback to signify the importance of one scene in Mockingjay, "A flashback hits. Suddenly I am back at the first games I attended, Peeta saying the same things, 'I know what blood poisoning is, Katniss.' I remember how close I was to losing him, and now, I am about to lose him." This quote shows us that Katniss really cares about Peeta and his life and would do anything to save him at any time.

I sympathize with Katniss, because she wants to help her family and friends in district 13, but she also wants to help Peeta, who is trapped and drugged in the capitol. In book 2 of the series, Katniss was willing to sacrifice her life for Peeta, but now, she failed, and always longs for Peeta's return. "I wanted to save Peeta in the Quater-quel, but now, I failed. I have to help my family, and save him!" (pg. 237)
