The final act seems a little rushed but it's still fun. I'm very curious about how this all will end.

So after Vasya worked so hard to imprison bad guy 1 she has to turn around and free him so they can be allies to face off against bad guy 2. A strange choice for the plot. It's clever but also makes me feel like the battle stop bad guy 1 was a little pointless. But maybe it will pay off. Still have over 50 pages to go.

So at the very last minute when they are all about to die the Prince realizes that priest is a bad guy. Sheesh. Took you long enough.

After wandering around in the dark moody land of midnight for nearly 100 pages, the book is picking up again! Yay! I was worried there for a while. I was scared that this might be a terrible finale to a great trilogy.

So In the first book I saw the Winter King as a father figure to Vasya. Now that Vasya is grown up, he is her lover? I know I read the first book a couple years ago, but wasn't she a child when she met him? Maybe Im wrong. But I thought she was. And if that's right, this relationship is strange.

So is Morozko a bad guy now? I see his reasoning behind what he did, but it's still kinda messed up.

I love the 1st two books with their unique historical Russian backdrops and fantasy elements. But so far Vasya has been wandering around in the realm of midnight injured. Right now it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, while repeating a plot point of the first book. I hope it develops into something exciting soon. I hope this book isn't a key down
