This book I would rate a 5 out of 5. I loved reading this book and learning about how to judge a book without looking at its cover. I know that Frank committed suicide and that it was part of the reason that they left, but I never thought that Gail would have a quick death. I say this because if Wes got a brutal death because he did some things bad, they why didn't Gail?

I am very happy about how this book is ending. The fact that it used very good foreshadowing in the beginning of the book to give us a hint about their deaths. What shocked me the most is that the dad died from cancer. I thought that he would live old and pretty much be rewarded for arresting his brother. But I think Len got it the worst, he had a stroke and had to live a couple more years with only have a body.

I am in extreme shock after I found out that Marie Little Soldier died. I believe that Uncle Frank played a big role in that because he could of helped her and if he did she would have gotten better. Also when Uncle Frank and Wes were arguing and then ok I do not know what Frank said but I do not think that Wes would just drop the accusation. I think that Frank is blackmailing Wes.

After every page I read I get more and more into this book. Last night I had to force myself to go to sleep! I have a lot of support for David because he is 12 years old and he knows about things that most 12 year olds dont know about. Also to live and act like he knows nothing is very hard to do. I predict in the future that David will accidentally slip up and spill that he has knew about this all along.

The start of Part two has dragged me further and further into this book. But I got to say the one part that has shocked me the most that I did predict was that Julian new about Frank's molesting. Not only did he know, he knew that he was on the reservation a lot. By the way he lost his virginity at 12, that is the youngest that I have ever heard. After hearing all of this about Frank I think he will try to make...

It says in the book that the grandfather says, "my son" even though he has two sons. This to me meant that he likes Frank more than Wesley. Frank was so ashamed that he was wandering through the crowd acting like he was picking up trash. I predict a fight between Wesley and Frank.

Why was the mom holding a shotgun? Also why was the dad on his knees. I think that they were like this because the mom is scared of disease and she wanted to put the maid out of her misery. She did not want her son to get sick and have something bad happen to her family.
