I feel like I have to finish this book because I recommended it to my book club, but it is terrible. The main story features an utterly bland protagonist wondering purposelessly through elaborately described rooms in a magical reader’s paradise that exists for unclear reasons. The book tries SO HARD to be clever and whimsical, but succeeds at neither. Hopefully the second half is better.
