The Jo Beverley story was fine, but again, I thought it was a bit too short. Also there was no heroine pov. I never really got a sense of who she was beyond a stock character, which is a pity because the hero is exactly the type I adore.

I didn't care for the Nicola Cornick story. The conflict was the kind of thing that could have easily been solved with some conversation, and I never did warm up to the hero.

The Cara Elliot story is almost as good as the Bourne. I had enough backstory for the characters that I got a good sense of who they were and the story went on for the perfect length. That said... ther'e's more orientalism than I'd like. Not a whole lot, but enough to put me off everytime it showed up.

I liked the Mary Jo Putney story, though it was kind of insubstantial. I'd have liked a little more showing of the feelings between hero and heroine, rather than just one conversation and a fade to black sex scene and now everything's OK again.

The Patricia Rice story was sweet, maybe even a little saccharine, and the plot was thin on the ground, but I happen to like this particular set of clichés. Not as good as the Bourne, but I probably wouldn't say no to reading more by her.

I loved the Joanna Bourne story. For some reason I'd gotten the impression she wasn't an author for me, but if the rest of her books have such delightfully competent heroines, I'll need to revise that opinion.
