I'm trying to remember if the Voice of the Lady appears at all in the trilogy before or after Lanen uses it. There's just soooo many deus ex machina in this series that I overlooked as a kid.

The title doesn't really make sense, given the definitions of 'redeem.' The Lost are literally victims of a demon attack; their condition isn't a character flaw or mistake. While redeem *can* mean to recover or restore, and they need restoring, redeem typically means to acquire in exchange of something/payment, which isn't going on here.

'Redeeming' is such an odd title choice, since the Lost/Hollow are sympathetic, victimized good guys. 'Restoring' or 'Avenging' would be so much better.

The implication is that Akhor's DTM transition caused the Demon Lord's MTD transition - if Lanen was transformed instead, would the Demon Lord have to turn from Raksha to Man?

Lanen and Akhor are better when they are separated.
