"These are some of the reasons why I hate yellow and brown" (Haddon 83), and Christopher starts giving reasons. I like how Christopher always has reasons for everything - however, it is kind of sad. He isn't able to like something just because he likes it. There is always a reason behind it. I feel like sometimes people should just go with their heart and not have to rely so heavily on real-life reasonings.

“Mr.Jeavons said that I liked maths because it was safe. [You] solve problems that [are] difficult and interesting but there is always a straightforward answer at the end” (Haddon 62). People tend to stick to things that they are familiar of and comfortable with. However, that is not how life works. Unexpected and new situations will always arise and play with your head.

"Children at my school are stupid. Except I'm meant to say that they have learning difficulties or that they have special needs" (Haddon 43). This quote is quite ironic since it is known that Christopher, the main character is who narrating this book, is autistic and is considered "special needs". However, this shows that words like "stupid" are rather subjective- it depends on the point of view of a certain person.

"I think [metaphor] should be called a lie" (Haddon 15). Starting from where I left off last time, this quote immediately caught my attention because although it is just a simple quote, I think it has a deep meaning. The human society is so used to using "metaphor"(lie) in everyday life, we do not see the harm of it anymore. However, if we think about it, lying does not create anything good but can cause problems.

"Chapters in books are usually given the cardinal numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and so on. But I have decided to give my chapters prime numbers 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 and so on because I like prime numbers" (Haddon 11). This quote really clarifies my confusion because the book started with chapter 2, and for a second I thought that someone might have torn the first page out. Also conveys that Christopher is weird but unique.
