Other then a lot of description not much has happened in the last 100 pages. Oh, the author did forget how old her character was, so there that. This is not a vampire story. It's a gothic tale, a very slow tale, with a handful of creatures thrown in.

There is a bit of excitment, not much but a bit. At page 200 the word vampire was finally uttered. This book is grand in atmosphere but not much else. In 226 pages, there has been 2 murders, a dinner, and a half made dress, that is it.

A slower paced story, though there are no lulls, this has a Gothic Victorian, New Orleans flavor. I love the old school backhanded insults. The characters are good so far. I'm very interested in The Ghost. This reminds me of the stories that got me into reading.
