The proponents of capitalism think that free competition is the only possible way to make progress... In reality, capitalism is based on the idol of money. The lure of gain gradual destroys all social bonds. Capitalism devours itself.

Modern man in the West disdains the past. He is proud of his civilization, which he thinks is superior to all that preceded it. Advances in the fields of science and technology give him this illusion; the latest revolutions of communications technology, and the Internet in particular, anchor this claim. Modern man has amnesia. We aspire to break with the past, while what is new becomes an idol.
