At this point in my book, the main character, James, has found himself struggling with his drug use and abuse. he wakes form numerous dreams of him using drugs and alcohol and desperately tries to hold onto the good things in his life and avoid the bad temptations. James revisits some places where he once did drugs at the low points in his life and reflects on how he is in a better place now.

At this point of the story I am at, Lily just freaked out on James badgering him asking if he is going to leave her. She says that if he's going to leave her she just wants to know now so she can take a bus back to Chicago so she can say goodbye to her grandmother then kill herself. Following this, James has an eye opening conversation with this man that previously did not like him.

At this point in the book, James is forced to face his consequences with the law as he learns his charges in Michigan and North Carolina are only small fines but he is faced with possibly 3 years of jail time at a state prison. James reconnects with his mom and dad at a recovering addict's clinic and tells them about his current situation with his friends and lover Alice.

James Fray was found in an alley half beaten to death and was taken to a rehab center and up to this point, it has been documenting the process of moving in and going through withdraw and the effect it has on his body. He meets all sorts of new people some who push him to his max and he flips and destroys a room at the rehab.
