I am currently finished the book. The story ends with the death of Agustus which leaves Hazel Grace heartbroken. This was a surprise ending because the reader would have expected Hazel Grace to die since Augustus had been cancer-free for a while. At the end of the story. Hazel reflects on the impact Agustus has had on her life in the short time she's known him and is grateful for him showing her love.

Hazel and Augustus have become an item and continue to get to know each other and begin to love each other. Hazel begins hanging with Augustus and his one friend that he went to the support group with. Hazel is finally happy with him but wonders if it is too good to be true.

I read about 60 pages this past week. Hazel introduces her cancer to the reader so she tells the reader about the support group she is being forced to go to. When she goes to this support group she meets this boy that appears to have nothing wrong with him and that he is just there with a friend for support. She then learns that he actually has a prosthetic leg as he suffered from his own illness.
