OK, we're out of the trial part, which is nice. Favorite line so far: "Robert wanted to help him, but he realized Ethan was mentally ill." This revelation came to us out of the blue, as Ethan had been perfectly healthy up until that point. Nor is Robert really basing this on anything but the fact that Ethan seems sad.

I keep reading parts of it out loud to my siblings and we laugh about it together.

Thank goodness I'm near the end of this. This book just gets more and more ridiculous. Apparently an American pop star can stroll into an Iraqi home full of people who openly want to murder her, with a single bodyguard, insult their religion and their country, HIT THEM IN THE FACE, and then leave with absolutely zero consequences, personally or politically.

This author is completely incapable of thinking from anyone else's point of view or giving any character a unique voice.

What's worse than a terrible writer writing a courtroom scene? A terrible writer writing flirty jokes.

So far this may be one of the worst Christian books I have ever read. I'm in the middle of a section about a trial right now and it is hilariously awful, clearly written by somebody who has no idea how impartiality works or that it could be a good thing.
