Bigger has just had a long conversation with Max over what he did. He describes his murders and why he committed them. For the first time, he felt equal when talking to another person.

Bigger just got caught for what he had done. Where I'm at currently, he is in jail. He is refusing to eat or do anything. He can't feel hate or fear anymore because he claims that neither of those things do anything to help him.

Bigger is beginning to analyze how he feels about murdering Mary. He feels a strange sense of power from his actions, and he doesn't feel fear anymore. In fact, he feels a strange aura of calmness despite murdering another human being. He currently is proud of his murder and feels that he will undoubtedly get away with it.

The plot of the story escalated very quickly. At the end of the first book, I am interested to see how Bigger deals with his actions. I am also interested to see how white society deals with Bigger and what he did. I am excited to start reading the second book.

The book is starting to become slightly more exciting. Bigger just got a job for a rich white man and his first day working is eventful. He takes Mary and her friend to one of his favorite restaurants in Chicago. However, he never wanted to take them to the restaurant because he didn't want to be seen there with two white people. Mary and her friend are communists, and they believe in complete racial equality.

The book is moving kind of slowly right now. Within Bigger's inner thoughts I can see my own thought process. He seems to be very anxious and often times thinks of the worst case scenario.
