Lina was looking for Doon. Doon was in the pipeworks working then he went to the library because he was looking for a book about the fire that never really happens in the city of ember. In the library it is very hard to find any book that you are looking for because when you are looking for a book he had to look on every shelf. Lina asked doons dad where he was to show him the piece of paper she found in the old box

Lina had found out what the note was about. She pieced together all of the pieces and then started figuring out what the meant and what the words were. When she figured it out she found out that some of the puzzle pieces spelled pipeworks and river and instructions. So then she knew that she had to go to Doon for help solving the rest of it because he worked in the pipeworks.

On page 106 Lina and the town went through the longest black out that they have ever went through before. During the black out she lost Poppy and couldnt find her. The black out lasted 7 minutes. After the black out she found Doon with poppy standing in front of the door to the store. She was so scared but very very happy that she found poppy.

Page 86, Lina was going to get colored pencils and was trying to figure out which ones to get and for how much money. When she looked back and realized that Poppy was gone. She turned back and started running and looking for her. Then the light went out the longest the ever have. When the lights came back on, she saw Doon and he was in his shop. She sawa him walking out of the shop with Poppy. They were so relieved.

On page 70. Lina is trying to figure out what is in the unknown region. Everyone on that has tried to get in has been taken by security. Their friend was the 4th one to try to get in but was taken.

Lina didn't know what was going on with the town and why it was all of the sudden breaking down and the lights were not working. Doon also didn't understand, he wanted to help fix it.

On page 57, Lina didn't know what was wrong with her grandma. She walked to her apartment and she saw her grandma taring the couch and the cushions apart. She said that she was trying to find something. She might have been trying to find the guide to the city.
