Udolpho is so painterly.That's not a word I think of that much in connection with novels, but is so true of this one. Radcliffe apparently never went to France or Italy, but she clearly spent a lot of time looking at the works of people like Claude Lorrain.

EMILY why did you sign the papers? You should have known better than to trust Montoni! AUUUUUUUGH

Mysterious Things so far in Udolpho: The poetry on the wall in the fisherman's cottage, the portrait Emily's father was weeping over, the papers he told her to burn without reading, the mysterious chateau they are told not to approach, the strange haunting music in the forest near the cottage, the way she almost steps into a grave and repeatedly sees shadowy figures lurking around.

Partway through Udolpho, the second in the collection. Hard to say how far, because that is one weakness of collections of books in Kindle editions. But it's so great.
