This story could do with more action. I anticipated more adventure. The talking animals were cool, but all they did was give Alexa a history lesson. There was, of course, talk of the spy, but it was so vague.

Pervis may be the best person to trust. He isn't nice, but that is why he isn't sneaky. Murphy is probably one of my favorite characters so far. Brave little squirrel!

So so story by chapter 6. I wasn't expecting a death so soon and really don't trust his son who apparently fits in so well within the day. Pervis is horrible, but at least he is upfront about it. Not that that makes hkm more likeable.
