The one thing that gets me, really and truly, is that this book truly pities its protagonist. Like, deeply; there seems to be nothing about her that the narrator does not deem sad or pathetic or tragic.

Super weird, but maybe it’ll set her up for that massive YA “omg success!” moment. It’s definitely making my reading progress very slow.

On one hand: god, if this was from Savvy’s POV, this book would rule.

On the other hand: I think I’m starting to candy onto the crux of the conflict in this in between the CW melodrama of it all, which is interesting.

I’m not expecting this to be MIND-BLOWING, but so far this is a fun dip back into reading, as I haven’t done much of it this year to my chagrin.
