This was a much-anticipated addition to the Fens mysteries by Joy Ellis and it did not let me down!
Coming back to the familiar characters and the unique environs of the Fens was like putting on a well-worn pair of slippers.
I loved that one particular ex-policeman was featured more in this story. Thoughtful and touching writing indeed.
The mystery itself was dark and disturbing but brilliant as usual!
