In Sophie's life right now at the age of fifty, I would deem her the trait of hard working. She was still doing multiple different jobs and aiding in so many different movements. Fighting for rights of people of color and being a woman doing mainly male dominated jobs were just a few of the more difficult things she was still doing at her age.

Work oriented is another trait I would give to Sophie. She was always focused on her work over things like family and other things. Through the deaths of her parents and other difficulties during her career, she continued on in staying in the spotlight and keeping her career going.

I would give Sophie the trait of perseverance at this point in the book. She continues in her battle to gain stardom through her weight and gender in a time when desirable images were changing and women were not seen as equals in most forms of life at the time. She continued on through her path to success always making sure she was keeping herself up with new and popular performance styles.
