A few things:
(1) The titular "Year of Blood" seems more like a year of tomb raiding and thievery.
(2) How did Talia come back to life? It's nowhere in the text! I need answers to scratch my completionist itch!
(3) I want to like this, I do, but the writing's not making it easy.
(4) So may word balloons!
(5) I'm beginning to hate the word "dude."

Three things:
(1) It bothers me that Maya's catchphrase is "dude." It's almost as annoying as Superboy's catchphrase being "seriously."
(2) Gleason's writing is pretty rough. He could do with a good scripter, because the story itself isn't bad, he could just use a hand in telling it.
(3) After careful consideration I've decided to shelve this YA.

Robin: Son of Batman 2, 2015 (left), Superman 10, 2017 (right)
Thoughts:
(1) I wonder if it's plagiarism if you copy yourself? (see above)
(2) Gleason reminds me of another artist-turned-writer, Dan Jurgens. With both there's a lot of action without much story. This last issue was basically one big kaiju battle.
(3) Goliath origin, please!

Thoughts:
(1) The art's too confusing. The problem with artists who also write is they just want to draw cool stuff, and write around it.
(2) Talia's back. No attempt's made to explain how she came back to life. I can only assume that when Damian did she did too, because they somehow share a life-link... exposure to the chaos crystal or whatever.

Jayson
is starting

Two things:
(1) I'm unsure whether or not to tag this as a young-adult book. It may possibly even be middle-grade. I suppose I'll have to wait and see.
(2) I'm a tad wary to start this. It's a "DC You" series, which was an initiative that shuffled creative teams and stressed "story over continuity" – basically the final nail in the New 52 coffin.
