At this point, I'm only hanging in here out of mild curiosity for how Jack's plot line ends. The whole robot secks thing, however, is just...somewhere between tedious and revolting.

Eliasz ran his hands over he carpace, finding the edges of her armor plates and trying to reach between them to feel the woven fibers of Paladin's muscles. "You feel so good."

Double UGH! "Carapace" makes it sound like he's fucking a huge bug.

She wrapped her arms gently around him and bent her head so that he could kiss the fine mesh over her voice synthesizer.

UGH! How is that sexy? It's like kissing Atom from the movie Real Steel. Or the Iron Giant. Yuck.

This started so strong. And one plot line, Jack's quest for an antidote to the workaholic drug, is still interesting. But the whole robot luv plot line is just...ugh. As Paladin is described, he isn't organic, but more like a small Voltron. Nothing sexy 'bout that, unless gettin' bizzy with toasters is your thing. ZzZZZZZzzzzZZ.

I like Jack's plotline, but Paladin and Eliasz, are boring. Not sure how you make a killer robot boring, but this book is doing it.

"We're always happy to help any large company stop criminals, of course." The senator nodded at the Zaxy VP, who offered an empty smile. "Piracy undermines free trade, and punishes the most productive member of our society." Having finished his speech, the senator check his cornea feed again.
In the year 2144, politicians are still slime.
