Nearly missed 'bowel catarrh' by reading a comma between. The second reference calls it belly flux. I'm guessing venereal discharge. And the cure is nettles.

Cleopatra dips a chaplet she's poisoned into wine and gives it to a prisoner to drink to show Antony how easy it'd be to poison him despite his precautions. The prisoner falls down dead.
