The author I felt she did not know what direction she should take this book throughout ...the synopsis was lead to one thought in regards to the American soldier whom the main character Anna marries but he was only briefly mentioned in the beginning and then really is only truly introduced until the end. Not one of my favorite World War II reads ...this one was just ok...so I am left disappointed.

Good solid story ...interesting characters but still peeling back the layers and I have like the majority of the novel read....

Hello Charlotte...it is so different then what you expect...it is W W II from the German perspective and what those who did not support the Vaterland did to survive.... I will be interested to see how it all ends....the synopsis leads you to believe one way but really has not even touched the character of the US soldier yet....
