There are two conclusions for the nursing mother who would like the side benefit of breastfeeding infertility. First she should positively cooperate with her baby’s natural desires to nurse whether it be for nutritional or emotional needs. Second, she should avoid practices that prematurely reduce her baby’s feedings at the breast. (Early solids/liquids, rigid nursing schedules, pacifiers, sleep training, and so on)

“In order for mother & baby to have this good start at nursing, they should both be physically able right after birth. Thus I recommend a prepared and, if possible, a completely unmedicated childbirth as the best for a successful breastfeeding experience. A baby may be adversely affected by any drug used on the mother and may not be inclined toward nursing.”
