halfway thru and completely in love, but i've reached the point where Tolstoy makes a sharp turn in the narrative to discuss his own theories of history. these chapters are like traversing the Mojave: it's f*cking dry. but at this point i'm hellbent on finishing this beast; i've come too far to turn back now (i hear those of us who complete it get team jackets).
