This isn't as bad as I thought it would be. The dialect-as-dialogue-or-worse-prose is still annoying (it's one of my pet peeves I'm afraid) but mostly this just makes me feel really sorry for Eleanor Cobham which is infinitely preferable to the 'what a bitch' and 'lol she's infertile so she's a monster' readings I've come across.

I am not hopeful for this: typos on the book description on the back, typos in the author note, dialect-as-actual-prose-and-dialogue. Plus there are some inaccuracies - Humphrey Duke of Gloucester's illegitimate children very likely not Eleanor Cobham's for a number of reasons and the daughter definitely already married by the time this novel begins (1440) as she had given birth to her first son in 1436.
