Thoughts:
(1) I feel ya, Bruce. I'm not a morning person either.
(2) I'm fond of Annual issues. The extra length lets stories breathe and simmer. They also lean sentimental, which I like.
(3) Tomasi seems fond of bringing in elements from stories out of continuity. Damian essentially dresses in the "Batman 666" suit with the high-collared duster.

Thoughts:
(1) This story calls back to Grant Morrison’s "Batman and Robin" and "The Killing Joke." Further proof that Batman was exempt from the New 52 reboot.
(2) So far this is the best of the tie-in books, though still a bit too maggoty for my taste.
(3) I may have said it before, but I'm not a fan of Gleason's art. Everyone looks spoon-faced.

Opening thoughts:
(1) When reading series, I like to alternate between genres. In this case, I'm switching from sci-fi to crime.
(2) I wasn’t intending to read this next, but seemingly by happenstance a good half-dozen of my friends here have been reading the series recently, so I thought I’d join in.
(3) Ugh! I'll have to read Batman #17 again!
