"'Mars is not a nation but a world resource,'" Frank quoted heavily. "They're saying that the tiny fraction of humanity that lives here can't be allowed to control the resources" (7.4.26) This quote is intriguing because it is ironic. The quote states that people will benefit from the resource of Mars. Only a very small fraction can benefit from this, the transnat owners. They are the only few who are privileged.

"This is understood even by the most conservative elements back home. We will never have civil war, because we are united by our faith. (6.3.19-20)" Frank explains that changes in any ideals from a group of people can alter their relationship. With trust any community can be solid. Without trust the community falls apart. I think that trust is the most important factor of a community where everyone trusts each other.

"We have studied the old cultures, before your global market netted everything, and in those ages there existed many different forms of exchange. Some of them were based on the giving of gifts." (5.7.100) One key aspect of society is giving and taking. This quote is interesting because it explains the weird society they have. The society which they give gifts to each other for no reason. I would want to live here!

"You can't keep Mars for yourselves, John, it's not a scientific station anymore, and you're not going to get a treaty that makes it one." (1.2.84) The introduction of the chapter starts of by the author giving us a hint. This is about the near coming major transformation. The author foreshadows the most major and the most important plot twist/change of the book Mars. It talks about John the main character mainly.

"We were on our own, and so we became fundamentally different beings." (1.2.1-2). This quote says a lot about our personality. In the book, there are many different individuals with different personalities and the different way they think uniquely. This quote significantly talks about how many individuals in our society is uniquely special and thats what makes us different from one another, fundamentally different.

"Our work will be more than making wages—it will be our art, our whole life. There should be no signs of hierarchy." (2.3.82) This quote is significant because it explains about how society should be shaped in the book. Work is more meaningful than what you are paid is the important message. I also agree, what you're paid for your job is not even near what you deserve.
