The imagery is incredible. The author blends the miner’s stories with facts and history of Chile. There is so much information it’s blowing my mind. The history is also really interesting and the way Tobar describes the land is beautiful. “...and today it’s become a khaki-colored eyesore garnished with trash and prickly shrubs “(Tobar 9).

There is so much information being thrown at me all at once. The author talks about The history of Chile as well as the geography, and the individual stories of the miners. It's all fascinating but I feel somewhat overwhelmed.
