Gabrielle just found out that the person she thought to be her mother is not her mother and she was found in the forest. She doesn't want to be with this woman. But "her mother" only took her because she wanted to feel love and wanted to love again.

Gabriella's mother fights with a Mudo and her mother kills her because she reminded her of someone from her infancy.

Gabry runs into a militia boy who was left behind because of his leg, he limps around all he time. She talks to him and he tells her that he brought his something for his mother.

Cira sees that her friends are being taken by theMilitia especially the ones that are Infected. She is sad because she thinks that she wont see them anymore.

Cira is remembering the time that she saw 2 cages and in one of them was Catcher and in the other wee his friends. She knew that he was infected and she knew he would most likely be dead. Cira wishes that he is now dead because she doesn't want to be alone.

Cira sees catcher bleeding and the bool won't stop going. She begins to think about how the Breakers could move quickly but were not as dangerous s to the Mudo that moved a little slower but were less dangerous id you got infected by them.

Gabry and Catcher are still up in the mountain and a girl from the camp asks him if he would like to go for a race. Gabry jumps in because hs knows that he is afraid of heights so she tells her that they can not go because she was the one afraid of heights.

Gabry is afraid heights as well as Catcher. They are talking about going up the mountain near their foster home that they are in. He tells her that she should be fine as long as they stick together and they trust each other.
of what i have read so far i can tell Gabry is in love with catcher or feels something for him.
