I loathe all self help books so I am not looking forward to this. Its february's book for book group so will try. and be non judgemental. It has started surprisingly well by slagging off self help books. Hopefully unlike the others it wont try and spin a chapters worth of ideas into a fifteen chapter book

The sarcastic note strategy is working. I would suggest "association is not causation" the overarching criticism of this waffly , padded out pile of pseudo-science so far.

Jeez this is slow going. I have , however , come up with a strategy for getting me through this. I am writing notes and underlining as I go. Shortest note was 'bollocks' repetetive notes such as 'pointless and irritating unneccessary description' are making me feel better if nothing else. Only 72% left -gulp

Hmmm.......the only thing I dislike more than self help books is pseudoscience spouted in self help books. And the only thing I dislike as much as that are references to ancient Rome in a bid to pad out the book. Suffice it to say this is not going well.....
