Somewhere in here, Byrne was clearly like, "Effing Claremont...write 718 words on top of MY beautiful art, will you? You know who else can do that? ME! I'll show you...here is 842 words on top of my art! Suck on that!"

Johnny does a pretty good job of just rolling with it when his girlfriend bursts into flames and suddenly has what's essentially his power set. If you couldn't see the inferno her body had become, you'd think she'd just said, "So, I'm not doing carbs anymore," and he was like, "Cool. Let's get sushi. Also, you're on fire, and let me show you how to fly without dying."

Thus far, the best parts of this have been the issues guest starring Spider-Man. But, that's pretty much true of everything--Spidey makes everything better. Except maybe time in the boudoir, because that could get awkward. Unless you're into that. I'm not judging.

I feel like I would make a terrible megalomaniac. I'd much rather, like, just read a book and eat a cookie than destroy the world, you know?

John Byrne can really just draw some comics, you know?
