On a fun note on the second one: Hippocrates believed in this. A modern example would focus in the concept of 'spectrum diseases' like asbergers or mental illness. The idea being that there's a spectrum of symptomology and response as a response to the person.

On the other end of the spectrum, there's the Physiological view: variation in physiological detail from within the patient , there aren't distinct individual existing natural kinds of disease, but there is a variation in physiological detail between patient.
