Honestly, I feel totally played by the completely misleading synopsis of this book... I expected something akin to Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig — a thriller with a hint of romance — but noooooooo no no nonono, this is not that. This is a 600+ page romance novel that reads like a fanfiction. How did I get here??? Or more importantly, do I finish this for the laughs or throw it in the DNF? 🤷
