The book has a very interesting and unique plot. The conflict between the two main characters is brought up right away with not much background needed. The author does a wonderful job of explaining the characters and having the reader learn more about them while the conflict takes place. Rowan and Citria are chosen to be scythes, people who take the lives of others. Morals of the characters are brought into play.
