For all the awesome things that happen in this book, there are also occasional chapters that could have easily been condensed into one or two paragraphs. Perrin walking around being bothered by everyone in town and just telling them to follow their instinct? This is a perfect example of why "show, don't tell" is not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes telling is just fine if it keeps the story moving.
