Mary's servant was not there when she woke up, instead another woman was there. She went out and noticed that her mother was talking to a man, very distressed. Cholera broke out, and the servants were dying. Mary went into her room to sleep, and when she woke up, it was completely silent. Finally, two policemen found her, and she found out that everyone had died. Now she has to go to England to live with her uncle.
