In the book the main character Sera goes on a trip with other students from her school, and they're in the woods taking a hike. While Sera and her fellow students are on the hike it starts raining. The teacher that is in charge of the trip does not know where they are. Sera is walking and a guy named Lucas comes up to Sera and starts to talk to her.
