Liesel is taken by her mom to foster parents known as the Hubbermans which they live in Himmel street. Liesel refuses to get out of the car but finally, she manages to do so, and her mom leaves with tears in her eyes. After a week there, death describes as Liesel's experience as a very rocky road. First of all, she is underweigh, feels lonely, and Rosa Hubberman always screams at her, and cusses almost all the time.

One day he wakes up, and Rosa goes to Liesel's school and acts like if shes scolding her but then whispers the news about Max, and she gets overjoyed.
