ostensibly satire but after a point it starts forgetting that it is? the author says popular culture is an essential part of intellectualism despite popular belief but then ten chapters later he insists that you need to Hide Your Dan Browns and always lie about your popular culture consumption — and it's much more seriously advised than the "satirical" tone of the book would suggest. i have mixed feelings about this.
