Whoa. Reading only one chapter, and Steinbeck had me reading pages two times. Kino, the main character, has his baby stung by a scorpion. With no other choice, he goes to see the doctor, only to be refused, as he has no money to offer.This already delves into the topic of affordable healthcare, and the general hardships that the unfortunate face. I am really looking forward to reading this book.
