I'm having a real hard time getting into this. I really wanted to like it as the subject matter is fascinating, however, the author's attempt at keeping the vernacular of the time period she is writing about has led to an unbelievable amount of grammatical mistakes that are really distracting. Whomever edited this didn't do their job well.
