The parts in the 'present' are enjoyable enough. In the past, though, there are lots of names mentioned that are not built up as characters. So, it very much becomes a list of events: x did this, y did that, z said this. But I have not been give enough information to form a clear enough picture of the characters to know who they are, how they are related to one another and why I should care what happens to them.
